The great news this month is that we are running our ski and snowboard program. Our entire school heads up to Whitewater each Wednesday for five weeks.

Early January was the perfect weather and all our students have really been enjoying lessons and time at the hill, whatever the temperature!

School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) announced the election by acclamation of a new chair and vice-chair of the Board of Education at the inaugural board meeting held in Nelson, B.C., on November 14. School Trustee Dawn Lang was elected uncontested as the new chair, moving into the role after serving one year as vice-chair.

School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) Teacher Sean Marechal has received the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence.

The following school principal and vice-principal transfers and appointments for the 2023-2024 school year will come into effect on August 1, 2023:
