School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) announced today that Principal Jennifer Kooznetsoff will be appointed as the Principal of W.E. Graham Community School in the Slocan Family of Schools beginning August 1, 2024.  

Principal Kooznetsoff currently leads Brent Kennedy Elementary School where she has served as principal since 2020. She has also served as vice-principal of Salmo Elementary School.  

Principal Mike Hurley will retire at the end of this school year, after an 18-year career as an administrator in SD8, the last six years serving as principal of W.E. Graham Community School.

“We wish Principal Hurley a wonderful retirement and many enjoyable pursuits following his school leadership career,” said Superintendent Trish Smillie.      

“Principal Kooznetsoff will be a great addition to the W.E. Graham team as she takes on a new leadership role in the 2024-2025 school year.”
