Principal's Weekly Blog September 29

Good Evening WEG Families!
Last week was a busy one for our school! Two of our classes went to Kokanee Creek Park to learn about the spawning salmon and their life cycle. What an enjoyable trip it was!
Our Valhalla Wilderness Program went to Whitewater for a 4-day camping trip. Again, lots of activity and excitement on their first big out trip of many this year.
To top it off, our Grade 7/8 OELP class went rafting with Endless Adventures. The students came back super excited to do it again.
Special thanks to all staff for making these trips possible.
This week, we enter October, beginning with a visit from the Superintendent tomorrow from 1-3 p.m. She will tour the school, speak to staff and students and see all the wonderful things that are happening at our school.
This week, our ASSAI (after school program) begins. This is offered from Tuesday to Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Please note it is not a drop-in service; students must be registered and paperwork filled out.
On that note, if you have been contacted by the office regarding missing documents, please ensure you get those in right away, thank you!
Tomorrow after recess, we honour Truth and Reconciliation Day in Canada. This is in tribute to those affected by the residential schools. We will participate in ceremony with our Aboriginal Success Teacher, Curtis as well as local elders. This will take place down by the Owl Trail by the river. All are welcome to attend.
Wishing you all a wonderful week!
