The latest from WEG

Good Morning WEG Families,

My apologies for not getting my blog out last week.....hoping that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Today is photo day at our school.  We will have a new photographer this year as our previous photographer has retired.  I am looking forward to seeing how they turn out!

Today is also hot lunch day; if you have not yet paid for your hot lunch fees, please do so.  You can pay what you are able.

Next Tuesday, I will be taking 10 students to Creston for the yearly Student Voice workshop.  This year's focus is on mental health.  Each school will have student representatives and these students will work in groups throughout the day.  This is an excellent opportunity for small and rural schools to have agency and speak about what matters to them, particularly from their point of view.

This month, Grade 4 and 7 students will be completing the FSAs (Foundation Skills Assessment) which is completed every year through the Ministry of Education.  Results from these assessments help inform teaching practice.

This is the time of year when families will be contacted by teachers to discuss your child's point of progress as we are approximately half way through first term.  Teachers across all grades will be completing assessments over the next couple of weeks.
