Celebrating Craig!

Good Morning, WEG Families,

Today was a happy yet sad day as we bid farewell to our custodian of 20 years, Craig Roussain.  The students lined up along the halls and cheered for Craig before we met in the library to celebrate his time with us.  Craig will be spending the next two months visiting his family in New Zealand before he officially retires in January.  We wish him all the best as he enters this new chapter in his life!

This past weekend, our PAC held their annual gear sale which is a big fundraiser for the school.  There are many items left and they are along the front of the school if you want to stop by and take a look!  Tonight is the PAC meeting at 6:15.  You can come in person in the library or join online.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Mark your calendars!  The Christmas concert date has been inked in for Tuesday, December 16, at 5:00 p.m. in the gym.  It will be a great night of singing and festive cheer!

Also coming up is report cards which will go home with your child on December 5.  If  you have any concerns between now and then, please be sure you connect with your child's teacher.  They are happy to meet with you to chat!

A special thanks to all staff and students for their participation in the Remembrance Day ceremony.  I am so incredibly proud of their reverance and good behaviour!  It was a different feel this time.  As you know, the Legion representative, Pat Ashton, passed away earlier this year so this event was in memory of him as well.  We welcomed John Gates who shared some great information with us at the cenotaph.

This month, our PBIS theme (positive behaviour interventions and supports) is Gratitude and Giving.  I will be creating a gratitude tree for students to add leaves for things they are grateful for as well as acts of kindness/giving that they are witnessing throughout the school.

I think that's all for now.  Wishing you all a wonderful week!  Stay warm and dry!
